Important: Use the notation defined in the style files we previously sent out. This will enable the book to be consistent and accessible to readers. The notation is also defined (in print form) in the Introduction chapter we sent out.
Include your email address (using {\tt email@a.b.c}) in the author list.
Add an abstract (if not present), summarizing the contributions of the chapter.
Refrain from defining your own formatting where possible.
Make the chapters more concise where possible; tighten up your writing to focus on the critical contributions. Omit material that already appears in the Introduction chapter.
Use "k-means" to refer to the k-means algorithm (rather than K-means, kmeans, $k$-means, etc.).
Check that figures are legible: thick lines, large axis and legend fonts, high-quality .eps
Add "short titles" for tables and figures:
\caption[Short title (appears in List of Tables/Figures, must fit in one line)]
{Long caption (appears in the text of your chapter, with the table/figure).}
Float all tables and figures, ideally to the top of the page, using \begin{figure}[tb]
Use \cite to cite references (we're using the "plain" bibstyle).
Only number equations that are later referred to in the text. Use \begin{equation*} for unnumbered equations.
